Denise Hickey - North Texas Municipal Water District

Denise Hickey is the Water Resource Program and Public Education Manager of the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD). Ms. Hickey oversees the water conservation education and outreach initiatives for the local Water IQ: Know Your Water, WaterMyYard, and Water40tter campaigns. Water Resource Program initiatives focus primarily on changing consumer water use habits to more efficient behaviors. Public education and outreach programs and bring higher consumer awareness to the services of NTMWD provides for water, wastewater, solid waste and water reuse as well as current initiatives of NTMWD in these and other areas.

Ms. Hickey graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology, with an education certification in biology and chemistry from Sam Houston State University. She has been working for the NTMWD since 1995, and is dedicated to educating consumers about the wise and efficient use of our finite water resources. She is an active participant with the state's Water Conservation Advisory Council, a member of the American Water Works Association, a member of the Water Environment Federation, and the Water Efficiency Network of North Texas among other industry organizations.

The North Texas Municipal Water District is a regional wholesale provider of water services for approximately 1.6 million residents in the North Texas Counties, Collin, Dallas, Denton, Fannin, Grayson, Hopkins, Hunt, Kaufman, Rains, Rockwall - a service territory covering 2,200 square miles.
